Galaxy Quest

Galaxy Quest is a science fiction comedy film directed by Dean Parisot and written by David Howard and Robert Gordon. The movie is a spoof of classic science-fiction television shows like Star Trek and features an ensemble cast of actors playing exaggerated versions of their beloved sci-fi archetypes.

The plot centers around the cast of a once-popular sci-fi series called Galaxy Quest who are suddenly transported to a distant planet by a group of aliens seeking help in defeating their enemy, a powerful warlord named Sarris. The cast, believing they are part of a fan convention, must use their knowledge of their show and its spaceship to save the aliens and, ultimately, the universe.

• The film stars Tim Allen as the captain of the fictional spaceship, the NSEA Protector, and Sigourney Weaver as his second-in-command who is often objectified because she is the only female crew member in the show.
